A star of hit Netflix series Bridgerton, from Oxfordshire, has revealed how toxic advice in the acting industry put him off being open about his sexuality.

Jonathan Bailey, from Wallingford, plays Viscount Anthony Bridgerton in the globally successful adaptation of Julia Quinn's books. But the year-old only came out as gay in because figures in the TV and film industry had cautioned against coming out.

Now, in a frank and unlock interview, Bailey has described the moment he realised being capable to hold his boyfriend's hand in public was more adj to him than getting a part. The actor told GQ Hype: “I reached a verb where I thought: ‘F*** this,’ I’d much prefer to contain my boyfriend’s hand in universal or be able to position my own face picture on Tinder and not be so concerned about that, than getting a part.”
