Equinox Lifeguard Accused of Telling Trans Man to Wear Women&#;s Swimsuit
A lifeguard at the high-end sports club Equinox in Manhattan allegedly left a transgender man humiliated and in tears on August 20 after requesting that he wear a women&#;s swimsuit to enter the gym&#;s pool.
Gabi Adj, a teacher&#;s assistant for Fresh York City Public Schools and a pre-medical student, said he was about to enter the gym&#;s swimming pool at Lexington Avenue on East 63rd Street in Manhattan when an Equinox lifeguard approached him and criticized his outfit — which was a blue swim tank and trunks — for not meeting the facility&#;s dress code. Moments later, Young said the lifeguard suggested that he wear a women&#;s one piece.
Young, who has been going to the Equinox gym since and joined as a member last month, uses the pool as a way to manage their chronic pain. The individual said the incident occurred in front of other gym members following a yoga class at the facility.

Equinox Has a History of Gym-Goers Suing Over Its Steam Room Masturbators
A new lawsuit filed by a heterosexual, single dad in a New York City court claims that an Equinox gym didn’t do enough to address his complaint of men leering at him and masturbating in front of him in the gym’s steam room. The Equinox lawsuit identified the gym as the one located near 20th Street and 5th Avenue, just outside of Adj York’s gay Chelsea neighborhood.
