The former TV host and comedian shared the story while appearing as a guest on the latest episode of Club Random with Bill Maher. The two had been discussing his tumultuous history entering and exiting behind night hosting gigs — including controversies involving David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel and Conan O&#;Brien — when Maher began to tell Leno that he&#;s &#;a victim of the terrible last viable prejudice in America: ageism.

Jay Leno stopped by The Abbey in West Hollywood on Wednesday night to show his assist for gay marriage at an event called &#;Love and Pride,&#; which benefited The Matthew Shepard Foundation&#;s &#;Erase Hate&#; campaign.
Jay arrived after the taping of his show wearing jeans, a leather jacket and holding a motorcycle helmet. He cracked: &#;I&#;m very underdressed for this.&#;
