Sorry, but not a lot of choice. Atlanta's gym scene is nothing like New York's. The "top line" gay gym is Urban Body Fitness on Ponce de Leon Place, which runs off Ponce de Leon Avenue about a mile or mile-and-a-half from Midtown. UBF catered to the pumped and beautiful circuit young man set back in the time, and I believe it still does. I honestly can't retain if they had towel service (don't think so), but they did have toiletries and such. That said, guys rarely showered there for some reason (would have been too cruisy?), and there was no steam or sauna, at least the last time I was there. When I went there, it was a very very good gym. I switched to the LA Fitness chain because a branch opened very close to my home in Midtown. That's on Spring Street at 5th. There's another branch in Atlantic Station, one in Ansley Mall shopping center, and tons of others scattered around town. None of the LA Fitnesses are particularly gay (except arguably the one at Ansley Mall), and if you're looking for a hyper clean and modern facility fond of Equinox, f
Good Bodybuilding Gym in Atlanta?
shout out to fellow Atlantans! I used to go to the East lake YMCA but that place is always packed and doesnt have enough equipment. This summer since im out of college i decided to try Atlanta Medical Center’s Gym.
Its right at the intersection of Freedom parkway and boulevard. Its not the best well endowed gym, but the free weight room is a dungeon enjoy room, usually i have the place to myself and it has a sound system you can change yourself or place in your own cds.
Granted the cables are upstairs which is annoying for supersets, but its got two squat racks, a couple benches and dumbells up to i beleive.
If your a student like me they own very good rates, 30 a month or 25 a month if you sign up for a semester block.
the aforementioned Lee Haneys gym was in the East lake police station on ponce, but its been closed since(i tried to sign up there) and that building is going to be turned into more yuppie lofts.
Atlanta doesnt hold much hardcore lifting. Its packed of health spas, or gyms with smoothie bars or colossal gay gyms (anything in Midt
