I've been here more than a handful of times, and I can say ever since they changed the name back to La Cage, this place has never been better! I'd like to give some praise to Sami and Donovan for being some of the absolute best bar tenders I've ever come across!

This is a fun place. They're usually not so busy on Fridays and there's not that many people there but Saturdays are lovely busy and full. They usually have drag shows on the top floor until like If you've never been to a s
Milwaukee's LaCage NiteClub celebrating four decades in business this year
MILWAUKEE — LaCage NiteClub is celebrating four decades of business this year. The Milwaukee hot spot is known for being a trailblazer for the LGBTQ+ community since it opened in
The club was created by George Prentice and Cory Grubb and is currently owned by David Wolz.
Wolz said his connection to LaCage isn’t just business, it’s personal.

“LaCage has always provided, for the LGBTQ community, a home and a safe space for people to come,” said Wolz. “In fact, it was the first gay bar I ever went to 30 years ago, so for me to actually own this place is kind of mind-boggling to me.”
Wolz said the building LaCage opened in, immediately challenged the status quo of the time, that gay bars should be hidden.
“It was the first gay bar to have completely open windows. Other gay bars in the past would include shielded windows to protect the people in
La Cage Aux Folles began as a dance bar, and was relatively popular from day 1. Upon its opening, it is also believed to be the first bar with windows clear to the street (closely followed by the M&M Club, which opened theirs within a month or two). Although the boogie area was not large, the location and timing was excellent, and La Cage quickly took dominance of the gay sway scene, largely helped by DJ Tony Aiello, who presided as DJ at La Cage for almost 20 years. La Cage quickly overtook Club as the city's premier gay twirl bar, and over the next few years competing venues such as Factory II closed. The bar continued to keep a good and loyal share of the dance crowd market as dance venues such as Kisses, Factory III, and others came and went.
Over the years, La Cage evolved. In the area of the building to the south of the La Cage bar opened as the separate but connected "Dance, Dance, Dance". About the same time, as separate area called Jazz was opened, advertised as "A not so loud adult retreat", featuring fine wine and champagne by the glass, ice cream and blended drink
